Engine 310 (1993)

     
 


Engine 310, which serves as the first engine due out of the station, is a custom built 1993 Pierce Dash Class-A Pumper powered by a Cummins 300 HP diesel engine with an Allison automatic transmission. E-310 was designed completely by the members of the Boalsburg Fire Company, to better serve the community. It features a Waterous 1250 GPM single stage top-mount pump with a 750-gallon booster tank. The custom designed, raised roof cab provides seating for six personnel. All seating, except for the chauffeur, is integrated with Scott SCBA’s.

A FoamPro Automatic Foam Proportioning System, with a 20-gallon Class-A Foam Tank, was incorporated a couple of years ago to add further versatility to our firefighting capabilities. The system is connected directly to the pump manifold, providing foam capabilities to all pre-connected lines and discharges.

Besides the pump, the other most important part of an engine company is the hose. E-310 is fully equipped with the following compliment of hose:

  • 1 - 200' 3” Leader Line (rear street side)
  • 2 - 200' 2-1/2” Attack Lines (rear curb side & street side)

  • 1 - 100' 1-3/4” Attack Trash Line (front bumper)

  • 1 - 200' 2-1/2” (rear curb side)
  • 2 - 150' 1-3/4” (street side)
  • 2 - 50' 1-3/4” Shoulder Packs (curb side & street side)
  • 1 - 150' 1-3/4” Complete High-rise/standpipe Bag (rear street side)

E310 also carries a multitude of equipment, which includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • ISG Thermal Imaging Camera with Digital Temperature Readout
  • MSA CO (Carbon Monoxide) Meter (single gas)
  • Cutters Edge Vent Saw
  • Tempest PPV (Positive Pressure Ventilation) Fan
  • Ground Ladders: 24’ Extension, 12’ Roof, & 10’ Attic

  • 2 - 500 Watt Telescopic Scene Lights powered by a Vanner Inverter
