Engine 311 (1983)

Engine 311, which was designed by the members of the Boalsburg Fire Company, is a 1983 custom built Pierce Class-A Pumper built on a Mack MR Chassis, powered by a 260 HP Diesel Engine with an Allison Automatic Transmission. E-311 serves as the second engine due out of the station, mainly serving as a supply engine; although it is setup like the first due engine, E-310. It features a Waterous 1000 GPM Two-stage Side-mounted Pump, with a 750-gallon Booster Tank. The open cab design provides seating for five personnel. All seating, except for the chauffeur, are integrated with Scott SCBA's.

In 1996, E-311 underwent some refurbishment services to add more versatility and capabilities. Some of the important items were the addition of a Pre-piped deck gun, heightening of the hose bed side wall for more hose bed capacity, and the modification of the jump seat area to incorporate a third SCBA integrated seat. Prior to the refurbishment, the middle jump seat did not have an SCBA.

Besides the pump, the other most important part of an engine company is the hose. E-311 is fully equipped with the following compliment of hose:

  • 1 - Pre-piped TFT Crossfire Deck Gun
