Two Alarm Working Dwelling Fire

At 6:30 pm. Companies 3 and 5 (Alpha) were dispatched to a Working Dwelling Fire on the 400 Block of Brandywine Dr. with neighbors reporting flames showing from the roof. Chief 301 arrived on scene confirmed working fire and assumed command. Engine 311 took the hydrant located just across the street from the home and made an initial attack with the deck gun while lines were being deployed to the structure. Truck 516 setup in front of the home and prepared for aerial operations. Engine 510 took the next closest hydrant and supplied 516. Engine 310's crew established a RIT Team. The first crew from 311 made its way to the attic. As the second line was being taken into the home an evacuation was sounded bringing everyone out and putting Master Streams to work. Upon knockdown crews were sent back inside. The fire was placed under control around 8 pm. Fire was contained to the attic area but a lengthy overhaul was needed to insure it had not spread anywhere else. The lower floors of the home sustained heavy smoke and water damage. Units from Companies 4 ( Centre Hall) and 8 (Pleasant Gap) also assisted at the scene. Engine 212 (Undine) was transferred to Station 3 for a stand-by. Units were on scene until about 11 pm.

New Fire Police Unit at Station 3

We have recently purchased a Fire Police Unit from the Alpha Fire Company. They have put into service two brand new pieces and gave us the opportunity to upgrade our current Fire Police capabilities. We have been using Utility 322 for this purpose but the new truck will give us the chance to carry more equipment in a better organized fashion. It has been re lettered and is in the process of a few upgrades and maintenance items. Before you know it Fire Police 336 will be closing down a road near you.

Brother Dave "Davo" Geiser

Our Firefighter Brother Dave Geiser passed away this afternoon at his home in Boalsburg. He leaves behind family and many friends that truly miss him. Dave was a very caring individual that would help anyone at a moments notice. If he was involved with something he was looking to have a good time doing it. We all had many good times with him. Our Hearts and Prayers go out to his loved ones.

Christmas gets an early start in the Village of Boalsburg

On Monday evening Members of the Boalsburg and Alpha Fire Companies went to work placing lights on a tree on the Diamond in Boalsburg. To make the project go a little smoother the Alpha's brought down the brand new Truck 517 to assist. The Truck was not yet in service so this gave a good opportunity for training as well as community service. After about an hour and a half the tree was glowing with 7000 lights wrapping its branches. Thank You to the members of Company 5 for your assistance with this project.

Busy Day

for Company 3

While on our second day of Fire Prevention activities at our local Elementary Schools Company 3 also ran a few calls to keep things interesting. Members of " The 3 House " were out at Boalsburg Elementary along with Dave Felice and the Fire Safety Trailer teaching the studentshow to handle fire emergencies. Along with the use of smoke detectors, knowing two ways to get out of their homes and some kitchen safety practices, they also each had the chance to operate a fire extinguisher. It was a very educatinal day for students and teachers alike. During these activities Company 3 also ran two Wires Down calls and an Automatic Fire Alarm. Not a bad way to spend the morning teaching and helping out our community.
